Matched – Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 25, 2026
What data we collect
- Device ID: a random identifier created when you install Matched. It links your analytics events and is used to manage license device limits (up to 3 devices per license).
- License key (Premium only): stored in your browser and sent to our license server to check your subscription.
- Usage analytics (via Mixpanel): events such as installing, starting or stopping a session, swipe counts, the settings you use, your plan, extension version, browser language and the dating site's language. Mixpanel derives your approximate country and city from your IP address; we do not store the IP address itself.
- Passport city search (Premium, optional): the city name you type is sent to Open-Meteo's geocoding service to find its location. Nothing else is sent. The location you pick is used only inside the dating site's page in your browser.
- Uninstall survey (optional): if you answer the one-question survey shown after uninstalling, your answer, any comment you type, the extension version and your device ID are sent to Mixpanel.
- Payment details (Premium only): handled by Stripe. We receive your email address and subscription status, never your card details.
What we do NOT collect
- We do not collect, store or transmit dating profile content: no names, photos, bios or messages, whether yours or other people's.
- Matched reads the profile shown on screen inside your browser only, to apply your filters (for example "skip profiles without a bio"). That text never leaves your device.
- On Tinder, Matched also reads Tinder's replies to likes and its match list inside your browser, to count the matches it gets you and to pause when you run out of likes. It keeps only match and profile IDs, on your device, for up to 90 days. Message text, names and photos are ignored. Analytics receive counts only (for example "1 new match"), never IDs.
- With Passport on, Matched also reads the coordinates Tinder sends for your location, inside your browser, only to confirm Tinder picked up the city you chose. They are not stored or sent anywhere.
- We do not access your dating app login or password.
- We do not sell or share your data for advertising.
Where data is stored
Your settings, device ID and license key are stored in your browser (Chrome extension storage). License records are stored on Cloudflare. Analytics events are stored by Mixpanel.
Third-party services
- Stripe: processes payments.
- Mixpanel: product analytics, keyed by the random device ID.
- Open-Meteo: turns a city name you search in Passport into a location; receives only the typed name.
- Cloudflare: hosts our license server and stores license records.
Permissions explained
- storage: saves your settings, device ID, license key and your match count.
- Access to supported dating sites (tinder.com, okcupid.com and others): shows the Matched panel on those sites and swipes for you when you press Start. Profile content is processed only on your device, as described above.
- Access to api.mixpanel.com and our license server: sends analytics events and checks your license.
Data deletion
Uninstalling removes everything stored in your browser. To delete your license record or analytics events linked to your device ID, email sunajebhushan@gmail.com.
